HEALTH FACTS:

Banana Peels have a lot of properties that can help the skin. They contain potassium, lutein (an antioxidant that helps the aging process), antifungal and antibacterial properties which help fight acne, can also treat psoriasis, poison ivy, minor burns and warts.

Bananas contain vitamin A (Retinol), vitamin B6, vitamin B12, vitamin C and minerals such as potassium, magnesium, fruit acids (which exfoliate the skin), antioxidants (which help with anti-aging), antifungal, antibacterial properties, and oils that smooth and moisturize the skin.

Honey is an antioxidant, it is microbial (which helps with acne), and it also works as a sunscreen.

Almonds contain healthy fats, oils, proteins and a lot of vitamin E (which is anti-aging, reduces fine lines and wrinkles on the face), as well as many minerals such as Selenium (an antioxidant).

Basil contains vitamin A, antibacterial and anti inflammatory properties (which clear the skin and helps inflammation go away over time).

Lemons are a natural cleanser, they contain alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids (for anti aging), vitamin C, citric acid (a natural exfoliant), it is also a natural skin whitener (meaning it fades freckles, sunspots, age spots, helps gets rid of scars and brightens the skin).

White Sugar contains natural moisture and gives the feeling of a "face peel"

Option #1

BANANA PEEL DAILY TREATMENT 

  1. Rub the inside of the banana peel on your clean skin, concentrating on the affected area
  2. Let the banana peel dry for 15-20 minutes, then rinse off with warm water
  3. Let the skin air dry
  4.  

Option #2 

BANANA NUT FACE SCRUB 

  1.  Cut the banana in half
  2. Mash the banana with a fork until it is a pasty texture
  3. Add one tablespoon of honey into the mixture
  4. Grind 1/4 cup of almonds and add it to the mixture for a thick texture
  5. Gently scrub the mixture onto your clean face
  6. Let the solution dry for about 15 minutes then rinse off with warm waer
  7. Let the skin air dry

*If you are allergic to almonds, substitute almonds for 1/4 cup of brown sugar

*If you have sensitive skin, place the almonds in a bowl of water for one hour to soften them before grinding the almonds

Option #3 

BASIL SPOT TREATMENT 

  1.  Boil one cup of water then pour it into a cup
  2. Take two tablespoons of basil into the cup of water and wait until the water cools down
  3. Take a strainer and strain out the basil (you only need the water)
  4. Dip a cotton ball into the basil water and apply it directly to the affected area

*This water could be kept for up to a few weeks in your refrigerator and be used daily as a spot acne treatment

 Option #4

LEMON AND SUGAR FACE SCRUB 

  1. Pour lemon juice into a small container
  2. Dip a cotton ball into the juice until it is soaked
  3. Carefully pour white sugar onto the cotton ball
  4. Gently rub the cotton ball onto your clean face (in circular motions)
  5. Rinse the skin right away and let it air dry

*Be careful around your eyes

*You can even use this scrub on your knees, elbows and dry feet!
